WHEN ANGELS CRY

Actually my favorite song of the album. It was written explicitly for my son Kapri, but it's also for all the couples and children who have gone thru the same situation of seperation as I did.
I tried to put myself in Kapri's position, but at the same time I think a lot of couples hide behind the discomfort of their children, where every action seems to be for the children, who are suffering from the situation. Believe me though, the children are much more stronger then we are and I think it is more difficult for us then for them sometimes. Children always cope with things no matter what. They're flexible and it's amazing how they forgive so easily right on the spot.
I am aware it was very difficult for Kapri as well. He was between the two of us and he loves me as much as he loves his mother. He would cry a lot when his mother came to pick him up and of course it was always difficult to see this pour kid crying. As the song says, he had nothing to say about that he was coming, his mother and I decided to have this kid and then suddenly this guy appeared. He had no decision what parents he was gonna choose, whether his parents were going to divorce or on any stuff like that. I can still remember when Kapri cried... it just broke my heart and I said "damn, what did we do", why did we bring this guy here so that he cried. He should be happy."
He's used to it now. He just want both of his parents to be there abd not to be torn between the two. He's used to it and is a big boy now.

In the meantime, one of his parents is wandering thru the streets of Brussels
I think he enjoyed that. I mean, it's always good to have a stable home, but I think Kapri was always excited going with me to studios, sometimes to concerts and if I dropped him off at a friends place to babysit him, she would expect me to pick him up at even four or five in the morning... he loved that. It was cool.
I even remember, when he was much more younger and I was singing in the studio, and he started to cry, I'd bring him in the recording booth with me and I'll give him a headphone while I was singing a song.
When angels cry, is really a song I think every parent who loves there children can relate to. Kapri is not going to understand that until he's maybe a parent as well.
It is my favorite song of the album, I think I'll always sing and I just learned the cords again and just started to play it again... and it's a nice way to end the album, an acoustic song saying something very important and very personal.
The whole album is a personal album actually, with stories of myself and the stories of me witnessing my friends. Like don't lie is witnessing fred going into situations I've been into, When angels is me being a witness to Kapri's crying
That's the Urban gipsy.
